There are now numerous requests coming in for the manuscript of STAR Academy, not only from foreign publishers attending the Bologna Children’s Book Fair, which wraps up today, but also from film studios and production companies. I am feeling more Ed Grimley than ever. I also have renewed interest in a project of mine entitled The Roaches. It is an adult animated comedy series concept that I created several years ago. My brilliant animator/director friend Sean Scott, created the character designs, which manage to be wry, salty, and touchingly amoral all at the same time. Sean and I are developing the project into a graphic novel at the suggestion of agent extraordinaire Samantha Haywood, who will be representing it. I will be adding more info about the project as it gets further into the development stages, but for now am keeping the premise and designs locked up in an hermitically sealed and bombproof decommissioned biochemical weapons-resistant section of the Diefenbunker that I was able to rent for a very reasonable rate on Craigslist.
